GRANT KNOWLES

Twelve years ago, Grant came to beautiful Golden Bay in New Zealand and discovered drumming. He enjoys playing both original and traditional rhythms and has studied the ancient rhythms of Haiti and Africa.

Grant has performed live with Jambalaya, Rhythm House and Jah Jah and currently performs with the band, Folkfire.

Five years ago, Grant’s love of drumming led him to make his first drum. It was a natural progression and, since then, he has made over three hundred drums for people from around the world.

Grant’s drumming skills have been enhanced by his intimate knowledge of the drum itself and his passion and enthusiasm for drumming has influenced many of those who now play drums made by Grant Knowles, under the name of Tribull Drums.
